Fly748 has committed KSh3 million towards the second edition of the Run 4 Seniors charity event, giving a major boost to efforts aimed at supporting vulnerable elderly people through feeding and healthcare programmes.
The airline announced the sponsorship ahead of the fundraising run, which is scheduled to take place on July 18, 2026, at Karura Forest in Nairobi. The event is organised by Mama Ibado Charity and seeks to mobilise resources for senior citizens living in underserved communities in Kakamega and Isiolo counties.
The annual run has attracted growing support from corporate organisations, running clubs and members of the public who are raising funds while drawing attention to the challenges facing older persons across the country.
Fly748 said its sponsorship reflects the airline’s commitment to supporting initiatives that promote dignity, inclusion and better living conditions for Kenya’s ageing population.

Speaking during the announcement, Fly748 Head of Scheduled Services George Oduor said older people deserve recognition and support after contributing to the country’s development over many years.
“Our senior citizens have played an important role in shaping our society and deserve to age with dignity, care and support. We are honoured to partner with Mama Ibado Charity in this noble cause and invite Kenyans from all walks of life to join Run 4 Seniors and make every step count,” he said.
Mama Ibado Charity Director Ambassador Dr Amina Mohamed described the partnership as an important milestone that will strengthen the organisation’s programmes targeting vulnerable senior citizens.

She said many elderly people continue to struggle with poverty, poor access to healthcare and social isolation, making partnerships with the private sector critical in expanding support services.
“We are grateful to Fly748 for walking this journey with us. This partnership reflects the growing recognition that older persons in our communities need consistent care, dignity and protection. The support will help us expand the reach and impact of Run 4 Seniors while continuing to deliver programmes that respond to the realities facing vulnerable seniors,” she said.
Funds raised during the event will support Mama Ibado Charity’s Seniors Feeding and Healthcare Programmes, which provide monthly food assistance, access to medical care, medication support and community-based services for elderly people in need.
As part of the partnership, Fly748 will also use its communication platforms to encourage more Kenyans to register for the charity run and raise awareness about issues affecting senior citizens. Participants travelling for the event will also receive a 10 per cent discount on Fly748 flight tickets.
The airline joins other corporate partners, including KCB and Sidian Bank, in backing this year’s Run 4 Seniors initiative, highlighting increasing collaboration between the private sector and charitable organisations working to improve the welfare of Kenya’s ageing population.
Run 4 Seniors has become one of the country’s leading fundraising events dedicated to improving the lives of vulnerable senior citizens, while Mama Ibado Charity continues to expand its feeding, healthcare, housing and community support programmes across different parts of Kenya.
