Eastleigh Wholesalers and Retail Linked to Alleged M-Pesa Delivery Scam

An online clothing seller operating under the name “Eastleigh Wholesalers and Retail” has been linked to an alleged M-Pesa delivery scam after a customer reported losing money following an online purchase advertised on TikTok.

The complainant claims to have paid for clothing items that were never delivered, despite completing multiple mobile money transactions as instructed.

How the Alleged Scheme Operated

According to transaction messages and screenshots reviewed:

  • The buyer contacted a WhatsApp number shared on a TikTok page advertising clothing deals.

  • The seller allegedly provided a Buy Goods Till number: 8835880.

  • The customer sent Ksh 3,200 to the Till account.

  • A person claiming to be a delivery driver later requested an additional Ksh 400 for transport.

  • The buyer was allegedly instructed to send money through another Safaricom number and later via Pochi la Biashara.

After the payments were completed, communication reportedly became inconsistent.

Matter Reported to Safaricom and Authorities

The complainant confirmed reporting the issue to Safaricom, but was informed that reversal was not possible since the funds had already been withdrawn.

The case is expected to be escalated to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) for further investigation into suspected mobile money fraud.
