Najdra Khan Sues MP Shah Hospital, Dr Navin Raina and Dr Dennis Nyambane Over Alleged Negligence

Najdra Khan, daughter of former presidential candidate Nazlin Rajput, has filed a lawsuit against MP Shah Hospital, Dr Navin Raina, Dr Dennis Nyambane and the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board (MPDB).

In the suit, Najdra Khan accuses the hospital and the two doctors of medical negligence and alleges that she lost her ability to bear children without her informed consent.

The allegations are contained in court documents and have not yet been determined by the court.

Claims of Negligence Against MP Shah Hospital

According to the pleadings, Najdra Khan wants the court to declare that MP Shah Hospital is liable for the alleged actions, omissions and negligent conduct of Dr Navin Raina, Dr Dennis Nyambane and its agents.

She is seeking:

  • General damages for pain, trauma and suffering

  • Punitive and exemplary damages

  • Future medical expenses

  • Flight expenses

  • Constitutional damages for alleged violation of her fundamental rights

She also seeks a court declaration that her rights under the Constitution were violated.

Allegations of Surgical Misconduct

In her filings, Najdra Khan claims she suffered extreme physical and psychological pain following surgery at MP Shah Hospital.

She alleges that her ovaries were drilled during the procedure and claims the operation was conducted without proper consent and without a qualified gynecological surgeon present.

She further claims she later developed life-threatening sepsis, heavy vaginal bleeding and other complications, which she attributes to incorrect prescriptions and post-operative management.

These allegations remain subject to judicial review and have not been proven in court.

Discharge and Readmission Dispute

Najdra Khan also alleges she was discharged prematurely despite objections from her and her mother.

She claims she was prescribed medication despite a known resistance in her medical history.

A few days after discharge, she says she fell ill again and was later readmitted as an emergency case.

She attributes her condition to what she describes as mismanagement and negligence.

MP Shah Hospital, Dr Navin Raina and Dr Dennis Nyambane have not publicly responded to the allegations at the time of publication.

Complaint Against the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board

Najdra Khan further states that she filed a complaint before the Preliminary Inquiry Committee of the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board.

However, she claims the matter has not been set down for hearing or determination.

In her court filings, she alleges that the inaction is deliberate. That claim has not been independently verified.

Additional Orders Sought

In addition to damages, Najdra Khan is asking the court to:

  • Order a full audit of surgeries conducted by Dr Navin Raina and Dr Dennis Nyambane

  • Require the report to be filed in court within a specified timeframe

  • Compel a public apology published in leading national newspapers

The matter is now before the court for determination.
