Sirisia’s flamboyant businessman and politician, Moses Nandalwe, popularly known as “Dangote” or “Money Bags”, has officially declared his return to politics ahead of the 2027 general election.

Speaking during a public appearance after a long period away from active politics, Nandalwe reaffirmed his loyalty to the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) and announced his bold intention to unseat the incumbent MP John Waluke.

“I am back now, and I assure you come 2027, watch this space. John Waluke must go home. He has delivered nothing in terms of development in this constituency,” Nandalwe told Daily News Kenya-International.

🔹 Nandalwe’s Criticism of Waluke

Nandalwe, who has previously contested for the Sirisia parliamentary seat, accused Waluke of failing to deliver on critical development projects. He claimed that despite serving for years, Waluke has not addressed the pressing needs of the Sirisia constituency.

The outspoken politician vowed to prioritize community-driven initiatives and pledged to launch several development programs in the coming months to demonstrate his commitment.

🔹 Development Agenda and ODM Loyalty

Nandalwe confirmed that his comeback is anchored on his full support for ODM, a party led by Raila Odinga. He emphasized that his vision for Sirisia will align with ODM’s broader agenda of social justice, inclusivity, and economic empowerment.

“I will soon roll out more of my programs. I am fully in the ODM party,” he said, signaling plans to unveil projects that focus on education, youth empowerment, and healthcare.

🔹 Political Implications in Bungoma

Nandalwe’s return to the political arena is expected to reshape Sirisia’s political landscape. Bungoma County remains a crucial battleground between ODM, Ford-Kenya, and UDA, with each party seeking to secure dominance ahead of 2027.

Political analysts argue that Nandalwe’s:

  • Close ties with Raila Odinga

  • Financial muscle

  • Grassroots influence

… could make him a formidable contender against Waluke.

His flamboyant style and reputation as a philanthropist and wealthy businessman have previously earned him both popularity and criticism, but his supporters believe he represents a fresh alternative leadership for Sirisia.

🔹 What Lies Ahead

While Nandalwe has yet to reveal his full development agenda, his entry is already generating significant buzz. More details on his projects and campaign strategy are expected to be unveiled in the coming weeks as ODM positions itself to reclaim key seats in Bungoma.

Observers say the race for Sirisia MP 2027 is now shaping up to be one of the most closely watched political battles in western Kenya.
