James Mwangi Kanyi, Joseph Gitau Mbugua and Zachary Kanyeki Muthul appeared before Senior Resident Magistrate Irene Thamara and denied the charges.

Sh15 Million Rice Theft Allegations

Prosecutors allege the trio committed the offence on November 10, 2025.

The incident reportedly occurred at Simba Godown in the Shimanzi area of Mombasa County.

The court heard that they stole 4,880 bags of rice.

Prosecutors allege they knew or had reason to believe the goods were stolen.
