Brian Toroitich Charged Over False Karen Land Claim

A Nairobi trader has been charged with allegedly giving false information to police over a disputed parcel of land in Karen.

Brian Kiprop Toroitich appeared before a Milimani court where he denied the charges.
According to the prosecution, Toroitich allegedly made a false report on October 13, 2023 at the National Criminal Investigations Academy in South C, Lang’ata Sub-County.

The report was allegedly made to Corporal Samuel Kagunda of the Directorate of Criminal Investigations.
Court documents state that Toroitich claimed land parcel LR.6967 (Original 5830/1/2), measuring approximately 29 acres in Karen, belonged to his late father, Stephen Kositany.

However, the land is reportedly claimed by KCB Bank.
The court heard that police launched investigations against KCB following the complaint before later establishing that the report was allegedly false.
Toroitich was released on a cash bail of Ksh50,000 pending further court proceedings.
