Alleged Beans Supply Fraud

According to the prosecution, Kibutu allegedly induced George Mwiti to deliver 11,340 tonnes of Amana rose coco beans valued at Sh1,927,800 to Unga Limited.

Prosecutors told the court that she falsely claimed she would remit payments received from Unga Limited Kenya to the complainant.

Bad Cheque Charges

Kibutu is also facing two additional counts of issuing bad cheques.

According to court documents, she allegedly issued two cheques of Sh900,000 each to Taifa Smart Holdings Limited, knowing that the account had insufficient funds.

The cheques were allegedly issued on January 23 and January 30, 2026.

Court Grants Bail

After denying the charges, the court released Kibutu on Sh100,000 cash bail.

She was also required to provide one contact person as part of the bail conditions.
