Kibera’s intensified 100-day crackdown on illicit brews and hard drugs recorded another breakthrough on Thursday after police arrested a suspect found in possession of a large quantity of cannabis in Ayani Estate.
According to a police report recorded under OB 38 of 21/11/2025 at 1447 hours, officers from Kibra Police Station and the Crime Intelligence and Prosecution Unit (CIPU) Kibra acted on fresh intelligence and raided the residence of Ibrahim Shimambo Anjimbi, aged 45.
Drugs Recovered During Raid
During the operation, officers allegedly recovered approximately three kilograms of cannabis sativa, packed in four khaki bags, along with 11 rolls of bhang concealed inside the house.
The suspect was arrested at the scene and escorted to Kibra Police Station, where he was formally booked pending arraignment.
Court Appearance Set
Police confirmed that Anjimbi is expected to be arraigned in court on Monday to face charges related to possession of narcotic drugs.
Crackdown Gathers Momentum
The arrest adds to a growing list of successes under the ongoing 100-day security and anti-drug operation targeting drug trafficking, illicit alcohol, and organized criminal networks within Kibera.
Security officials say the campaign is part of a broader effort to dismantle drug supply chains, reduce crime, and protect vulnerable youth from substance abuse.
Police reiterated their commitment to pursuing all actionable intelligence until drug dens and distribution networks are fully dismantled.
